The government has ended nationwide lockdown effective from Tuesday midnight.
"We should not say we are in lockdown from tonight," Government Spokesperson Yuba Raj Khatiwada said. He revealed that it has been lifted on recommendation of the Health Ministry. "Up to 700 persons were infected in a day at one stage. It is now below 200. We will now monitor the situation till mid-August and then take additional decision."
The government has also decided to resume domestic and international flights from August 17 and the international borders will be shut until August 16.
The government had first imposed nationwide lockdown from March 24 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and extended it multiple times.
