CPN standing committee member Surendra Pandey has said CPN Chairman and Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli should quit one of the two posts.
Talking with Setopati, Pandey expressed confidence that Oli will himself choose one out of the two big posts. "PM himself should choose one out of the two posts of party chairman and PM. I believe he himself should find a resolution to the problem. What he chooses is up to him," he said. "I don't feel that anyone will defy party decision. Nobody is above the party. Everybody has been created by the party."
Pandey claimed that neither the government nor the party is being properly run now. He argued that a single person leading both the bodies has compromised efficiency leading to call for implementation of one individual, one post policy.
He conceded that the recent revelations show that Chairman Puhspa Kamal Dahal may be a little uncertain but guessed that Dahal still believes that Oli should quit one of the two posts.
He also stated that the standing committee meeting scheduled to resume on Tuesday must reach conclusion and added that it should not be postponed repeatedly.
