All kinds of inter-district vehicles passes have been stopped from Wednesday.
The Home Ministry issuing a press statement on Wednesday has instructed all district administration offices to indefinitely stop issue of such passes considering the high risk of COVID-19.
Home Ministry Spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Budha told Setopati that issue of such passes has been stopped as people are travelling to other districts on different pretexts. "Any vehicle apart from ambulances, and vehicles carrying food and vegetables will not be allowed to go to another district," he added. "Anyone falling ill will have to travel on an ambulance. No vehicle pass will be issued in the name of an individual now."
The government has been considering Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts in the Valley as a single district.
