Nepali Congress (NC) has claimed that it has not demanded share of spoils in government appointments.
NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has stated that the party has not applied with anyone for appointments amidst talks about the main opposition party demanding share of spoils in appointments in the universities and constitutional bodies.
"There are vacancies in constitutional bodies. No officials in universities. Provinces have not been named. There is no place for blaming that decisions could not be taken due to the opposition," Sharma said speaking with News Agency Nepal on Wednesday. "We are not submitting applications seeking NC should be given this appointment."
He added that NC has also not created difficulties demanding that this or that person should be appointed in different positions.
"Many more things, and not just appointments in vacant positions, are not in prime minister's priority," he pointed. "We have asked the government to repair ventilators in hospitals at the time of COVID-19 pandemic. Asked to rescue those who are stranded abroad. But the government has not kept these things in priority."
