The 122 Chinese nationals arrested from different parts of Kathmandu two weeks ago and released after paying a fine of Rs 1,000 each have been deported on Wednesday.
Director General at the Department of Immigration Ishwor Raj Paudel said the 122 have been banned from returning to Nepal for four years. Their passports have also been blacklisted.
Only 67 of the 122 had Chinese passports and the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu prepared travel documents for the rest after proving they were Chinese nationals, according to the department.
Two chartered Chinese planes arrived in Kathmandu Wednesday evening to take them back on initiative of the embassy.
A China Eastern plane arrived from Kunming and a China Southern one from Guangzhou. The China Eastern plane took 42 Chinese and the China Southern one will take 80.
The 122 Chinese, including eight women and 114 men, had been released after paying a fine of Rs 1,000 each.
The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu on Sunday had submitted investigation report to the District Administration Office through the District Attorney Office charging them of improper conduct. Chief District Officer (CDO) Janak Raj Dahal hearing the case ordered the Chinese nationals to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 each.
The Chinese nationals were arrested in coordination with the Chinese security personnel, who had arrived in Kathmandu, for carrying out illegal activities by opening office having arrived here on visit visa.
