The bodies of eight persons buried under the rubble following landslide in Melamchi Bazar, Sindhupalchowk Sunday night have been recovered.
"Eight bodies have been extracted from under the rubble," Ward-chairman of Melamchi municipality 11 Rudra Prasad Dulal told Setopati. "One injured person has been rescued and taken on a helicopter to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment."
Dulal said workers from Birgunj and India, who had come to construct a covered hall near Melamchi Bazar, have been buried in the landslide. All the dead victims are men. "Many of them are from Birgunj. Two-three of them are from India."
The workers had arrived in Melamchi 20 days back for construction of the covered hall.
