Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Basanta Nembang has said that long-distance transportation will only resume after mid-September.
Talking to Setopati, Minister Nembang added that the short-distance transport services, however, would continue like now. "Public transport will operate inside the Kathmandu Valley as it is now. The medium and long-distance transport that we said will resume from August 17 will now resume only after mid-September," he revealed.
The government has currently imposed odd-even rule for vehicles in the Valley.
"The situation is getting complex. It is necessary for all of us to become careful," he added.
The Cabinet meeting on Monday had decided to not resume long-distance transport and aviation services until mid-September.
